Railway Ministry to introduce new Tejas sleeper type trains, see new features
The Indian Railways are moving swiftly in the campaign to make public travel more pleasant. The Railway Ministry had decided to provide new facilities to passengers traveling on long-distance trains. “A new era of train travel experience with enhanced comfort is being rolled out with the introduction of Tejas Sleeper Type Trains,” the Railway Minister wrote on his Twitter account. The train bogies are built for maximum comfort
The train bogies are provided with Air Spring suspension to improve the comfort and ride quality of these coaches. "Provided with smart features, the coaches of this New Sleeper Type Tejas Train will offer best in class travel experience. The start of the Tejas service is planned for February 15,” the railways said in a notice.

Automatic doors and improved seating arrangements
The coach has an automatic plug door and all main entrance doors are centralized controlled by the guard. The train won’t start until all doors are closed. The complete under-frame of the train is made of stainless steel which increases the life of the coach because of reduced corrosion. The seats and berths have PU foam to provide better comfort to passengers

The coaches will have 'smart features'
The smart features include PA/PIS (passenger announcement/passenger information system), a digital destination board, CCTV with night vision capability Facial recognition even in low light conditions, and Air quality measurement for Air conditioning systems. The Tejas Sleeper Type train also has an Emergency Talkback for medical or security emergencies.

New toilets with many new features
The train toilets will have a Bio-vacuum toilet system which provides improved hygiene condition in the toilet due to improved flushing and also save water per flush. The train also has improved toilet units with touch-less fittings, gel-coated shelves, new design dustbin, door latch activated light and engagement display.

The train will have Automatic Fire Alarm systems
All train coaches will have an Automatic Fire Alarm and Detection System. Both the exterior and interior of the bogie are provided with textured PVC film.
