Australia (4-1) have regained the ODI rubber vs India. Their last series triumph over India was by 4-2 in India in 2009-10.


India have recorded their second win in 16 matches over Australia at SCG (lost 13 and No-result one). Their previous triumph over Australia at this venue was by 6 wickets on March 2, 2008.


Australia (330/7) have posted their second highest total vs India at SCG next only to the 359 for five on February 8, 2004.


India (331/4) have recorded their highest total in Australia in ODIs, surpasing the 323 at Canberra on January 20, 2016.


For the first time, India have registered four totals of 300 or more vs Australia in a bilateral series in Australia in ODIs.


The first side to successfully chase a score of 300 or more vs Australia in Australia in ODIs is India. West Indies' 284 for 3 at Brisbane on January 5, 1997 was the previous highest successful chase.


India's above score is their third highest successful chase in ODIs next only to the 362 for one at Jaipur on October 16, 2013 and 351 for four at Nagpur on October 30, 2013 - both against Australia.


The series has produced an aggregate of 3159 runs for the loss of 61 wickets - a new record in a bilateral series of five ODIs, eclipsing the 3151 in New Zealand-England 2015 series.


Manish Pandey's unbeaten 104 off 81 balls is his maiden century in ODIs. He became just the second Indian player to post a hundred at SCG in a winning cause. Sachin Tendulkar was the first to do so - 117 not out off 120 balls on March 2, 2008.


Ishant Sharma has captured 9 wickets at 27.77 runs apiece in four innings - the most by an Indian bowler in the just concluded series. John Hastings, with 10 wickets at an average of 21.50 in four matches, has finished as the leading wicket-taker in the series.


Hastings' aforesaid performance is his best in a series in ODIs.


David Warner has posted his fifth hundred - his first vs India.


Warner has registered two centuries in ODIs - two vs Sri Lanka, one each vs Afghanistan, India and England.


Warner enjoys an outstanding record at Sydney Cricket Ground, posting two centuries - 127 vs England on January 16, 2015 and 122 vs India on January 23, 2016. His runs' tally at this venue is 572 (ave.57.20) in ten innings, including two hundreds and four fifties.


Mitchell Marsh's unbeaten innings of 102 off 84 balls is his first century in ODIs, surpassing the 89 off 83 balls vs Zimbabwe at Harare on August 25, 2014. His previous highest in ODIs in Australia was 67 vs South Africa at Perth on November 16, 2014.


All three maiden centuries have been registered by Marsh family vs India in ODIs. Geoff Marsh had posted 125 at Sydney on January 21, 1986; Shaun Marsh had registered 112 at Hyderabad on November 5, 2009 and Mitchell Marsh 102 not out at SCG on January 23, 2016.


Steven Smith took his tally to 315 at an average of 63.00 in five innings, including a century and a fifty – his highest aggregate in a bilateral series. His tally is the second highest by an Australian skipper in a bilateral series vs India next only to the 478 ave.95.60) in six innings by George Bailey in India in 2013-14.


Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma were involved in a stand of 123 - India's first century partnership for the first wicket in ODIs at Sydney, eclipsing the 76 by the same pair against Australia on March 26, 2015.


The above partnership is the second best for India for the first wicket vs Australia in Australia behind the 124 between Ravi Shastri and Kris Srikkanth at Melbourne on March 3, 1985.


Rohit is the first batsman to amass 400 runs in the just concluded series - his tally being 441 (ave.110.25), including two hundreds and a fifty, in five innings. He is the first Indian batsman to aggregate 400 runs or more twice in a bilateral series vs Australia. He had totalled 491 (ave.122.75) in six matches in 2013-14 - a record by an Indian player in a bilateral series.


Besides the above two occasions of 400-plus runs in a bilateral series by Rohit vs Australia, no other Indian batsman has accomplished the feat against any other team.


Rohit is the 12th Indian batsman to amass 5000 runs or more in ODIs - his tally being 5008 (ave.42.08) in 148 matches.


Rohit's 99 is his 28th fifty in ODIs - his third vs Australia.


Rohit became the seventh Indian batsman to register an innings of 99 in ODIs, joining Virender Sehwag (99 not out), Kris Srikkanth, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar (thrice) and Virat Kohli.


Rohit has been adjudged the Man of the Match for the fourth time in ODIs - twice each vs West Indies and Australia.


Virat Kohli's aggregate of 381 (ave.76.20) in five innings is his highest in any ODI series/competition, surpassing the 373 (ave.53.28) in eight matches in the Commonwealth Bank series in Australia in 2011-12.


Kohli has completed his 1000 runs vs Australia in ODIs - his tally being 1002 (ave.55.66) in 23 matches. He is the fourth Indian batsman to accomplish the feat vs Australia, joining Sachin Tendulkar (3077), Rohit Sharma (1297) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (1255).


Besides, Kohli has completed his 1000 runs in Australia in ODIs - his tally being 1001 (ave.50.05) in 23 matches.


Shikhar Dhawan has registered three successive innings of fifty-plus vs Australia for the first time in ODIs - 68 at Melbourne; 126 at Canberra and 78 at Sydney.


Dhawan's fourth fifty (78) vs Australia is his 17th in ODIs.


Seven hundreds were recorded in the series in a losing cause - the most in any bilateral series in ODIs.


Hastings (3/61) has recorded his best bowling performance in ODIs at Sydney.


Mitchell Marsh (9.4-0-77-1) has earned a dubious distinction of conceding most runs in an innings in ODIs at Sydney.
