Centre seeks Attorney General`s opinion
The government, at a high-level meeting on Sunday night, sought Attorney General Soli J Sorabjee`s opinion on Ayodhya dispute. Government`s move came after Muslim Board rejected the `compromise formula` saying that the proposal had `loopholes`.

Personal Law Board`s rejection of the Ayodhya compromise formula suggested by the Kanchi Kamakoti Peethan Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati.
The hour-long meeting, convened by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his residence, was attended by senior cabinet ministers including Home Minister L K Advani, defence minister George Fernandes, human resource development minister M M Joshi, law and justice minister Arun Jaitely and disinvestment minister Arun Shourie.
Bharatiya Janata Party president K Jana Krishnamurthy, national security advisor Brajesh Mishra and intelligence bureau chief K B Singh were also present at the meeting, according to sources.
Taking stock of the new development, the government functionaries also discussed the March 13 hearing in the supreme court regarding the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Ramjanmabhoomi nyas proposed `bhoomi poojan` ceremony on March 15.
