Rajkot/Ahmedabad: Vishal Madam, a nephew of Congress MP from Jamnagar, Vikram Madam, who was absconding for last several years, was arrested by the city crime branch here last night, police said on Saturday.
"Vishal Madam, was arrested late last night," JCP Crime Branch Mohan Jha said.
Vishal faces several criminal cases including murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping and extortion and was also linked to the kidnapping of Rajkot-based jeweller`s son Bhaskar Parkesh, police said. Vishal was absconding after being released on bail in a murder case some five years ago, official sources said adding he was arrested late last night in Ahmedabad.
Vishal`s uncle, Vikram Madam too faces allegation of creating hurdles for an an oil company in Jamnagar which was laying pipeline there. A team of Jamnagar police would soon take the custody of Vishal, sources added.
