New Delhi: BJP on Tuesday took digs at Swami Agnivesh for entering reality show Big Boss, saying he should not have done that and also asked him not to use the forum to target Parliamentarians.
"Agnivesh has entered a commercial programme as per the commercial requirements of this programme, he is making such comments," BJP Vice-President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters in reply to a question.
Agnivesh had said that the people in Big Boss are not as bad as Parliamentarians who "curse, throw chairs at each other and create ruckus". "Firstly he should not have gone on Big Boss. But since he has gone there, he should not have spoken against Parliamentarians," Naqvi said.
The decision of the social activist to enter the reality show took many by surprise.
Agnivesh has been in the thick of controversies especially over the last few months. He was purportedly caught on camera talking to a Union minister against Anna Hazare and his team when the Gandhian was on a fast for the Jan Lokpal Bill.
He was a member of Team Anna at the time. Agnivesh denied that it was him in the tape. Recently he has made statements against Team Anna members Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal and questioned their credentials after reports that the former had cheated her hosts on plane tickets while the latter owed dues to the Income Tax Department.
