Medininagar: Chief Minister Arjun Munda on Wednesday said the BJP did not believe in politics of "arithmetics" and his ruling coalition was working for Jharkhand’s development with commitment.

"The (JMM’s) win in the Mandu assembly bypoll has reflected the unity in the (ruling) coalition. The BJP does not believe in jod-tod rajniti (politics of arithmetic), and will not take any such step that will affect the alliance," Munda said in reply to a media query on the BJP/JMM/Ajsu/JDU coalition.
Munda’s statement comes in the backdrop of Jharkhand witnessing eight governments and two stints of President’s rule since 2000. Stating that the people of the state did not want mid-term polls, he said the BJP would not back out to face if such situation arose in future. The term of the Jharkhand assembly ends in 2014.
After completing Santhal Pargana in the first phase of road-inspection tour in November first week, Munda today began his two-day second phase of Palamau division covering Palamau, Latehar and Garhwa. He clarified that road-inspection tour did not mean only to inspect condition of roads but also other developmental projects.
Munda said even NH-25 road project remained incomplete.
