Alexandre Lacazette's first half goal gave Lyon the victory on Saturday, Xinhua reported.

The top scorer of last season hit the crossbar with a 41st-minute penalty after he was brought down by Jaba Kankava, but he atoned for his miss just three minutes later, rounding off a neat one-two with Claudio Beauvue by stroking the ball past goalkeeper Johnny Placide.

With Saturday's victory, Lyon moved above their opponents on goal difference and into the fifth place.

Later at Allianz Riviera stadium, the game between Nice and Nantes was abandoned at half-time due to a waterlogged pitch with the score at 2-2.

Jules Iloki gave Nantes an eighth-minute lead before Valere Germain's brace in the space of 16 minutes put Nice ahead.

Adrien Thomasson's close-range header on 40 minutes levelled the scores before the referee ruled that the second half should be played at a later date.

Also on Saturday, Angers continued their impressive start to life in the top flight with a 1-0 home victory over Bastia.

Bottom-placed club Ajaccio were denied a hard-earned victory by an own goal and drew with Toulouse 2-2, while Troyes are still searching for their first win of the season after losing 0-1 at home to Guingamp.
