Patrice Evra out for a month: club
Juventus French international defender Patrice Evra will miss two crucial Champions League matches with Olympiakos after the Italian champions confirmed on Monday he would be out for a month with a hamstring strain.
The 33-year-old -- who has played just six times for Juventus this season since his free transfer from Manchester United -- suffered the injury during training last week, which prevented him from playing in Sunday`s 2-0 win over Palermo that sent the champions three points clear of Roma.
"Patrice Evra was absent from the group [training on Monday] following the injury he sustained late last week," a club statement read.
"The Frenchman underwent medical tests earlier today which revealed a strain of the biceps femoris muscle [hamstring] in his left thigh, and he is estimated to return to action in 30 days."
Juventus sit third in Group A of the Champions League after three matches, three points behind last season`s beaten finalists Atletico Madrid and Olympiakos, who beat them 1-0 in Athens last week.
