Indian archers eyeing Olympic medals will have a feel of what`s in store for them less than a year down the line when they compete among the best in the International Archery Challenge for Rio test event at the Sambodromo.
Rio de Janeiro: Indian archers eyeing Olympic medals will have a feel of what's in store for them less than a year down the line when they compete among the best in the International Archery Challenge for Rio test event at the Sambodromo.
The Archery Association of India have sent a full strength side including Deepika Kumari, Rimil Buriuly and Laxmi Rani Majhi and Mangal Singh Champia, who have earned four quota berths -- women's team and men's individual.
The other two in the men's section includes the duo of Jayanta Talukdar and Rahul Banerjee as they will shoot in the qualification round for the seedings.
The top field includes London Olympic champions Oh Jin Hyek and Ki Bo Bae, silver medallists Takaharu Furukawa of Japan and Aida Roman of Mexico.
"It's a big opportunity for all of us as it boasts of the best field... We're all looking forward to a positive show," Banerjee said.
The individual round will begin tomorrow and continue till September 18, followed by the team events.
