New Delhi: The Indian men's hockey team created history on Thursday night by entering their first ever final of the Champions Trophy.

Despite losing 4-2 to Australia earlier in the day, the men in blue progressed thanks to Great Britain's 3-3 draw against Belgium.



Great Britain were down 1-3 but managed to pull things level in their last league game in London, which meant India finished second.


India will now face favorites Australia in the summit clash of the six-nation tournament on Saturday.



With 2 wins, 2 defeats and a draw, the Indian side finished second on the points table.


Britain needed a convincing win against Belgium in order to make the final. They however ended up with 5 points and a third place finish.
