Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said there is no threat to Pakistan as it is a stable and powerful country and its defence is in strong hands.
Talking to the media at Prime Minister House here on Saturday, Gilani said: "There is no threat to Pakistan, no danger to Pakistan as it is a stable and strong country." He said Pakistan is a responsible state and an important member of the international community, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.
Gilani`s ties with the powerful Army had hit a rocky patch in recent months. Pakistan`s political scenario was thrown in turmoil after Gilani accused army chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and ISI chief Shuja Pasha of violating the constitution by submitting their replies to the Supreme Court on the alleged memo sent to Washington that said President Asif Ali Zardari feared a military takeover following the killing of al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.
