Chennai: Promising squash player Dipika Pallikal continued to dazzle as India reserved a quarterfinal berth in the 13th World Junior Women`s Team Championship by drubbing France 3-0 here today. India, who defeated Germany 3-0 yesterday, advance into the final-eight from Pool-B, which comprises four teams.
Pallikal today set the momentum in the hosts` favour in the crucial match by defeating Emilie Lamilango 12-10 11-6 11-7.
Taking heart from Pallikal`s spirited show, compatriot Anaka Alankamony, who replaced Anwesha Reddy for today`s encounter, survived some anxious moments before beating Julia Lecoq 7-11, 7-11, 11-5, 11-7, 11-8.
Surbhi Mishra then rallied from behind to round off the tally by overcoming Cyrielle Peltier 8-11, 11-4, 11-3, 11-4.
India will now take on England, who also has qualified for the final-eight, in their last group match tomorrow to decide the group winner.
