72,330 new cases of COVID infection in India, 459 deaths in last 24 hours

India reported 72,000 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours on Thursday. Of the 72,330 new infections, 39,544 were from Maharashtra. With 4,563 cases, Chhattisgarh recorded its highest number of cases ever.
