Alliance air crash summary report released
In order to ensure transparency into the entire probe, the day-to-day progress of the investigation into the cause of accident of Alliance Air Boeing 737-200 aircraft at Patna on july 17 has been made available online from Tuesday.
The summary report of the inquiry committee of the Patna Alliance air crash has been released over the Internet. Though the report does not include the details of the aircraft’s voice recorders, it enlists the following findings:
Pilots were fit
Jet was airworthy
Visibility was clear
Engines in functional condition
No report of engine fire
Engines were working on full power
Undercarriage had not been lowered
The requisite information could be accessed at http://civilaviation.nic.in.coi, an official release said
in New Delhi.
Government had appointed the court of inquiry on August 8 to investigate into the cause of accident. The court of inquiry is headed by Air Marshal P Rajkumar, programme director (test flight), Aeronautical Development Agency, Bangalore.
