“We have noticed the video and asked him to give a reply as to why he did this in a public office, to which he said that the priest is his guru who guided him to join civil services. So, he invited the priest to thank him and show him respect,” The Indian Express quoted a senior revenue department officer as saying.

Singhal also told the department, “Sir, he has been my guru since I was born. I invited him to thank him. He was the only one who advised me when I was in college to prepare for UPSC civil services. My father used to regard him as his father since I lost my grandfather when my father was just 23,” as quoted by The Indian Express.

Lakshya Singhal is an IAS officer from the 2019 batch of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre. The Delhi government has not taken any action against Singhal yet. IAS Lakshay Singhal had secured All India Rank 38 in UPSC exam in his second attempt. He fulfilled his dream of becoming an IAS in 2018 with his hard work.
