Craig Wayne Boyd: I almost lost my house before winning 'The Voice'

Washington: Craig Wayne Boyd has revealed that he almost lost his house before winning 'The Voice.'

The 35-year-old Nashville transplant recalled that a little more than a year ago, sitting in a pick-up outside of a club after he had played, he told his drummer that he may have to quit because it's not paying his bills so he is losing his house and has lost his pick-up, E! Online reported.

Boyd added that he didn't know what he was going to do, but his friend wanted him not to quit.

Boyd continued that then fate stepped in as he received the e-mail inviting him to audition for 'The Voice' just the day after he had the devastating talk with his drummer.

He said of his big win that it's just validation that all that hard work that he has put in up to this point was not in vain.
