Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan’s films are picking a knack to be made into games it seems. After ‘RA.One’ that was made into a video game by Sony Playstation, it is now turn for ‘Don 2’.
India’s largest game services company Gameshastra has pitched in to turn the much awaited thriller ‘Don 2’ into a game. Excel Entertainment and Reliance Entertainment’s joint venture ‘Don 2’ stars Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta and Kunal Kapoor. The game will allow the player to be the DON himself, the player can do all that SRK will be seen doing in ‘Don 2’. The character in the game will look same as SRK’s look in the film. This game will be available on Android, iOS, and PSN for PS3 platforms. The game on Android and iOS will be released along with the movie, where as the console version of the game will be released in March 2012, as reported by a daily. There will also be a game version of it on Facebook. Mohan Raju Director and Founder of Gameshastra spoke to media and said, “This builds on the success of the over 47 titles we have published on various platforms for the global markets and positions Gameshastra as the leading game studio in India – we are proud to be associated with Excel and their ‘DON’ franchise and the success of this title will mark the beginning of many more joint endeavors with major studios in India.” Ritesh Sidhwani, producer of Don 2 said, "This is the first time a game is based on an Indian film that will be launched on four platforms. When I saw the creative of the game I was very excited because the visuals were as real as the characters in the film and for an iconic character like DON I think this was the best way to keep the hysteria going amongst his fans”. Farhan Akhtar, who directed the remake and has now also directed the sequel, is excited about his film being turned into a game. “Everyone of us seeks adventure and when Gameshastra came up with this idea of making a game based on the film’s narrative it really excited me and I felt that this could be interesting yet fun way to let people have their personal doze of action and adventure,” said Farhan to a daily.
