Country needs to differentiate between `Andolankari` and `Andolanjeevi`: PM in Lok Sabha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reply President`s motion of thanks in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. The discussion on the President`s address was taken up by the lower House of Parliament on Monday. The House has been witnessing repeated disruptions over the last few days with the Opposition demanding a discussion on the three new farm laws that has led to massive protest by farmers at the borders of Dlehi for nearly three months.

  • PM Modi: There are people who talk the right things. But this same section, when it comes to doing the right things, fail to convert words into action. Those who talk big on electoral reforms oppose One Nation One Election. They speak of gender justice but oppose Triple Talaq.

  • PM Modi: I consider the 'Kisan Andolan' to be 'Pavitra' (pure). But, when 'Andolanjeevis' hijack Pavitra Andolans, showcase photos of those jailed for serious offences, does it serve any purpose? Not allowing toll plazas to work, destroying telecom towers- does it serve a Pavitra Andolan?

  • PM Modi: To use improper words against the private sector may have got votes for a few people in the past but those times are gone. The culture of abusing the private sector is not acceptable any longer. We cannot keep insulting our youth like this.
     

  • PM Modi: The public sector is essential but at the same time, the role of the private sector is also vital. Take any sector - telecom, pharma - we see the role of the private sector. If India is able to serve humanity, it is also due to the role of the private sector.

  • PM Modi: An argument has come that why did you provide when we didn't ask. Nobody had demanded law against dowry or Triple Talaq, but laws were made for a progressive society.

  • PM Modi: Those who are disrupting the House are doing so as per a well-planned strategy. They are unable to digest that people are seeing through the truth. Through their games, the trust of the people can never be won.

  • PM Modi says that the Farm laws were passed through an Ordinance and later by Parliament.

    He said, "After the Laws relating to agriculture were passed by Parliament - no Mandi has shut. Likewise, MSP has remained. Procurement on MSP has remained. These facts can't be ignored."
     

  • PM Modi: Three farm laws were brought in by Government, these Agricultural reforms are important and necessary. Congress MPs in House debated on colour of the laws (black/white), it would have been better if they had debated on the content and intent of the laws.
     

  • PM Modi: This House, our Government and we all respect the farmers who are voicing their views on the farm bills. This is the reason why topmost Ministers of the Government are constantly talking to them. There is great respect for the farmers.

  • PM Modi: Our JAM Trinity made a positive difference in people's lives. It helped the poorest of the poor, the marginalised and the downtrodden. Sadly, who were the people who went to Court against Aadhaar.

The House has been witnessing repeated disruptions over the last few days with the Opposition demanding a discussion on the three new farm laws that has led to massive protest by farmers at the borders of Dlehi for nearly three months.


The PM had delivered his reply to the President's address in the Rajya Sabha on Monday where he tried to allay fears of farmers over Minimum Support Price for crops by saying, “MSP was there. MSP is there. MSP will remain in the future."
