Election Commission meets to discuss SC order

New Delhi, Apr 03: The Election Commission (EC) met today to discuss the Supreme Court's order empowering the Commission to take action against those who air offensive political advertisements.

The expenses incurred on these television advertisements will be part of the political parties election expenses.
Sources in the Election commission have indicated that the court's order will give the EC powers, which it earlier did not have.

The Commission is expected to formulate guidelines on political advertisements ensuring that there are no personal attacks. The EC will file its affidavit on Monday in the apex court.
