Anil Kapoor’s ‘Gandhi My Father’ wins 3 National Awards
The official ceremony for the announcement of the National Awards, 2007 has been delayed due to the sad demise of Andhra Pradesh CM, YS Reddy. However, the latest reports reveal that Anil Kapoor’s ‘Gandhi My Father’ has won as many as three awards at the 55th National Awards. Anil Kapoor won in the Best Film category, Feroz Abbas won for Best Screenplay and Best supporting actor award was given to Darshan Zariwala.

Mumbai: The official ceremony for the announcement of the National Awards, 2007 has been delayed due to the sad demise of Andhra Pradesh CM, YS Reddy. However, the latest reports reveal that Anil Kapoor’s ‘Gandhi My Father’ has won as many as three awards at the 55th National Awards.
Anil Kapoor won one of the awards in the Best Film category, Feroz Abbas won it for Best Screenplay and Best supporting actor award was given to Darshan Zariwala. The film was pitted against commercial successes like Aamir Khan’s ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chak De India’.
Although the news of a few results have started doing rounds already, Feroz Abbas Khan, the director of ‘Gandhi My Father’, said that it would be unethical to comment before the official announcement.
Since there hasn’t been any official announcement of the awards till now, other important category winners are still not known. The award winners are reportedly set to be announced on Monday.
