Bareilly-Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper: The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is set to revolutionize travel between key cities in Uttar Pradesh—Agra, Aligarh, Bareilly, and Jhansi—and Mumbai. According to railway board officials, while the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express will be slightly slower than its chair car counterpart, it will still offer impressive speed and comfort. This train will feature 16 coaches, including 11 Third AC, four Second AC, and one First AC coach, with a maximum speed of 130 km per hour.

In comparison, the Vande Bharat chair car Express, which currently operates on various routes across India, can reach speeds of up to 160 km per hour. The introduction of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train on the Bareilly-Mumbai route, passing through Bareilly, Aligarh, Agra, and Jhansi, marks the debut of the country's first sleeper version of the Vande Bharat train.

Fully AC- 3 Tier To First Class

The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will begin its journey from Bareilly and travel through Chandosi, Aligarh, Agra, Gwalior, Jhansi, Bina, Bhopal, Itarsi, Khandwa, Jalgaon, and Manmad before reaching Mumbai. It will have 11 AC 3-Tier, 4 AC 2-Tier, and 1 AC First Class coaches, with a total capacity of 823 passengers. To ensure a comfortable journey, the train will be equipped with modern amenities, including sensor-based lighting, energy-efficient overhead lights, and improved staircases. Indian Railways will also enhance side berth cushioning in the AC 3-Tier coaches for added passenger comfort.

Delhi-Mumbai Route

Sources suggest that the trial run for the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train may begin on August 15, 2024. Initially, this train will operate between Delhi and Mumbai via Gujarat.

Agra To Mumbai In 10 Hours

The introduction of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will drastically reduce travel times. The journey from Agra to Mumbai, which currently takes 16.28 hours over a distance of 1,349 kilometers, will be completed in just 10 hours. The 1,481-kilometer trip from Bareilly to Mumbai, which now takes 27 hours, will be reduced to just 11 hours.

Jhansi To Mumbai In 8 Hours

For travelers from Aligarh, the 1,295-kilometer journey to Mumbai, which currently takes 25 hours, will be cut down to just nine hours with the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train. Meanwhile, the distance from Jhansi to Mumbai, 1,059 kilometers, which now takes 19 hours and 49 minutes, will be covered in just eight hours with this new service.
