Founded in 1998 by Kunwer Sachdev, Su-Kam was India’s first inverter company, created during a time when power cuts were a significant issue across the country. Su-Kam quickly became essential in Indian households, offering a solution to the widespread electricity crisis.

Kunwer Sachdev, known as the 'Inverter Man of India,' transitioned from the cable TV business to power backup, launching Su-Kam to tackle India’s power problems. His innovative approach made Su-Kam a household name, trusted by millions.

Su-Kam didn’t just dominate the Indian market; it expanded internationally to countries like Nepal, the Middle East, Africa, and Bangladesh, becoming a global name in power backup solutions.

Initially, Su-Kam faced setbacks with customers returning products due to flaws. However, after a successful re-launch with improved versions, the company quickly gained popularity and established itself as a market leader.

Despite its rapid growth, Su-Kam started to decline due to personal issues faced by founder Kunwer Sachdev, leading to a debt of Rs 240 crores. This marked the beginning of the company’s downfall.

Although Su-Kam had enough funds to repay its loans, legal battles with banks led to the company being declared bankrupt. The management was then handed over to Insolvency Resolution Professionals, signaling the end of the company.

Kunwer Sachdev expressed deep sorrow as he watched the company he built over three decades close down. Su-Kam, which once competed with global giants and brought international recognition to Indian products, was no more.
