This 28-year-old bassist hails from Kolkata but was born and brought up in Mumbai. She is part of Gaan Bangla's Wind of Change and Coke Studio India. She was mentored by jazz exponent Louis Banks and also performed for music maestro AR Rahman in many shows.

The Indian bass player announced her divorce news hours after AR Rahman and wife Saira Banu, leaving fans shocked. She was married to saxophonist Mark Hartsuch. They played together in the band MaMoGi, along with drummer Gino Banks. The couple took to Instagram and shared a joint note that read: "With a heavy heart, Mark and I announce that we have separated. First, as a commitment to our friends and family, this is a mutual understanding between us. While we remain great friends, we both have decided that we want different things in life and separation through mutual agreement was the best way to proceed."
Adding further, "We will still be working on several projects together, including MaMoGi and Mohini Dey groups. We have always prided ourselves on working well together and that will not be stopping any time soon. The big thing we want to wish is love to everyone out there in the world. She began performing at the age of 11 and received her first bass guitar when she was nine or ten. Dey released her self-titled debut album in August 2023.
