Tim Montgomery, a US athlete who held the world record for being the fastest in the 100-meter dash, was stripped from both his record and the Olympic accolades he garned in his career. The development took place after it was found that the sprinter had taken a banned substance to accelerate his performance.

One of India's most decorated wrestler and two-time Olympic champion Sushil Kumar is currently under six days of police custody for his alleged involvement in the murder of 23-year-old Sagar Rana, who also was a member of the same discipline. It has been reported that Sushil along with his asscoiates were involved in a deadly brawl, which led to the victim's demise. The athlete claimed the incident to be an accident, stating he shot thinking it was an intruder. However, he was sentenced to five years in prison but made parole in just one year and was released from prision in October 2015. After his exit, he was directed to remain under house arrest. The 6ft 6in (1.9m) tall swimmer was spotted in the photos of the riots, in which he was seen wearing a Team USA jacket.
