Mumbai: Directed by Abhay Chopra (late BR Chopra's grandson), Ittefaq starring Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna has released today.  The film is an adaptation of Yash Chopra’s 1969 namesake movie featuring Rajesh Khanna, Nanda and Madan Puri.

Ittefaq is a thriller which revolves around two eye-witnesses who are also the prime suspects in a double murder case investigated by a police officer.

Akshaye plays Dev, the officer investigating the complex case with eye witnesses – Vikram and Maya - narrating entirely different versions, thereby making investigation even more difficult.

It is good to see a fine artiste like Akshay back on the silverscreen. We have seen him playing a variety of roles in the recent past and it would be interesting to see how he pulls of his role in Ittefaq. Akshay was a part of comedy/actioner Dishoom and thriller Mom that released in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Jointly BR Films, Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Ittefaq is a crucial film for both Sonakshi and Sidharth who haven’t had a great time at the Box Office for quite some time now. Sona’s Akira and Noor tanked at the Box Office and so did Sidharth’s Baar Baar Dekho and A Gentleman.
