Deepika has proved her acting prowess with splendid performances in films such as Goliyon Ki Raasleela – Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Piku. She is among those actresses who can carry the Indian traditional look exceptionally well. Moreover, her personality is charismatic. Bhansali needed someone who could justify Rani Padmini’s grace and none but Deepika could fit the bill.

Shahid is one of the most underrated actors in the industry. The actor par excellence who has given impeccable performances in Kaminey, Haider and Udta Punjab, has shown enough maturity as an artiste. He not only looks good but also carries a variety of looks with elan. Moreover, his magnetic aura adds royalty to his personality. And hence Shahid is the perfect choice to play Maharawal Ratan Singh.

Ranveer is not called a bundle of undying energy for no reason. The lootera of a million hearts has wowed audiences by jaw-dropping performances in Goliyon Ki Raasleela – Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. In a career that’s less than a decade old, Ranveer has proved his versatility by playing myriad characters on screen- as a boy-next-door in Band Baajaa Baarat, as a matured lover in Lootera, a fun-loving youth in Dil Dhadakne Do to a warrior in Bajirao Mastani.
