Gurgaon: Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is disappointed with the censor board`s decision to ban screening of adult films on television. He feels the producers will lose a lot of money due to this.
"This is wrong as the major part of the revenue we get is from the satellite channels. Obviously the producers will lose a lot of money. Moreover, we can`t make all the movies with U/A or U certificate," Bhandarkar told reporters here Tuesday.
He said that the Film & Television Producers Guild of India is already working on the modalities. "I am sure it will be resolved very soon."
The filmmaker was here to promote his upcoming film "Heroine" with its lead actress Kareena Kapoor. The film, releasing Sep 21, delves into the behind-the-scenes life of an actress in the Indian film industry. It also features Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda.
Kareena has also raised objection to the censor board decision.
"It`s wrong because I feel that every film is a different kind of film. We make different genres of films, with different directors. Producers invest because they feel that the film has something," said Kareena.
"For me there is nothing like an A or U/A film certificate. You switch to other channels like Star World and Star Movies and they have wild scenes too," she added.
