Filmmaker Onir, who recently bagged a National award for his film "I am", has been invited by Cannes International Film Festival to be part of their producer`s network.

New Delhi: Filmmaker Onir, who recently bagged a National award for his film "I am", has been invited by Cannes International Film Festival to be part of their producer`s network.
The 42-year-old`s ‘I Am’ was based on four short films exploring themes like child abuse and same-sex relationships.
It was co-produced by actor Sanjay Suri and over 400 people from 35 cities across the world. "I Am on seventh heaven right now. With all this good news coming my way, I feel rejuvenated once again. First the award and now this, it`s overwhelming. It still has to sink in. I cannot thank my friends and everyone who has supported me enough," Onir said. He also took to Twitter to express his happiness. "Super thrilled to be selected to take part in the Centre National Du Cinema Et De L`Image Animee, producers network at #Cannes," Onir tweeted. With three films in production, the director will pitch the projects and discuss the same at length at the Cannes Film Festival`s Producers Network. Both, Onir and Suri will be present at the network to discuss their projects. "This year Sanjay and I will be producing three films ‘Chauranga’, ‘Coach Kameena’ and my own directorial venture, ‘Shab’. It is exciting that we will have the chance to present the projects there," the director added. Right after receiving his award in Delhi, the director is yet to travel to the Cannes Film Festival. The 10-day festival will take place from 16 to 27 May this year. PTI
