Scientology is the reason behind Katie Holmes-Tom Cruise divorce

Washington: Katie Holmes has filed for divorce from husband of 5 years Tom Cruise primarily due to his fierce ties to Scientology, fearing that he would drag their daughter, Suri, deep into the church.

Sources told TMZ that the 33-year-old actress has never been fully committed to Scientology, even though she has had ties with the church. The Hollywood A-list couple had apparently been arguing over 6-year-old Suri, as she’s now of the age where Scientology becomes a significant part of her life. Sources familiar with the split said that Katie is filing for sole legal custody specifically because she does not want the 49-year-old to control decisions relating to religion. ANI
