  • Live Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals: That is it

Delhi Capitals secured a comprehensive victory, having batted Royal Challengers Bangalore out of the game. Although Smriti and Devine got RCB off to a strong start, they could not maintain the required run rate of over 11 runs per over, and were eventually dismissed by Capsey. Despite Perry's efforts to keep the scoreboard ticking, RCB suffered a mini-collapse, losing 5 wickets for just 7 runs, with Tara Norris being the main contributor. Knight and Schutt put on a 50+ partnership, the highest of the innings, to limit the margin of defeat. However, Norris returned for her final over and claimed her fifth wicket by dismissing Knight.

  • Live Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals: Heather Knight, Megan Schutt Build Partnership

RCB is making an effort to narrow the margin by scoring eight runs in Jess Jonassen's over, which could benefit them in the later part of the tournament. In the meantime, the Delhi Capitals have been performing exceptionally well on the field.

  • Live Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals: RCB Down And Out

Shikha Pandey has taken her first wicket in the WPL by dismissing Asha Shobana for a mere 2 runs. The Delhi Capitals are on their way to a significant triumph as RCB has put up a disappointing performance thus far.

  • Live Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals: RCB on backfoot

    Perry Falls

Norris strikes in her very first over, extending the game further. With the crucial dismissal of Perry, Delhi strengthens their position in the match. Perry charges down the pitch, aiming to hit the ball through the off-side, but the ball doesn't come on as expected. As a result, she ends up getting an inside edge onto the stumps.

    Second Wicket in the over

Norris secures her second wicket in the over and celebrates with joy, rushing towards Capsey. Although it was not a great delivery, she managed to claim the wicket. The ball was short and down the leg side, allowing Kasat to pull it towards deep backward square. However, Capsey was positioned perfectly and barely had to move to take the catch. With this impressive performance, Delhi Capitals seem to be on track for a resounding victory.

  • Live Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals: RCB Bounce Back

The Royal Challengers Bangalore batters are under mounting pressure as the scoring rate has dropped significantly. With the required run rate well over 13, the situation is not looking good for RCB. In this scenario, Ellyse Perry is expected to be the key player for Bangalore. The last two overs yielded 14 runs.

  • Live Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals: Smriti Falls

Oh my goodness! What a disastrous moment for RCB as they lost both their openers to Capsey, with a ball that was beautifully tossed up and slid down the leg. Smriti attempted to use the paddle shot, but was unable to roll her wrists over and ended up offering a straightforward catch to Shikha at short fine. It's clear that the pressure of the big chase is starting to take its toll on RCB.

  • Live Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals: Big blow for RCB

Shafali has just made a remarkable catch, as Devine attempted a low rightward slap. Shafali displayed her agility and quick thinking, moving across swiftly and bending down to try and catch the ball with her fingertips. Upon review from a front-on angle, it seems she was successful in her attempt, which could result in trouble for Devine. While the third umpire deliberates, the side-on replays do not offer much support for Devine's case. Ultimately, it is determined that Shafali did manage to catch the ball, resulting in Devine being out. This was an outstanding performance from the young Indian player, who had already been having a great day. The ball was delivered outside off, prompting Devine to come down the pitch and attempt the slap. She hit the ball hard and flat towards mid-off's right, but Shafali's dive across secured the catch, leaving spectators in awe.

  • WPL 2023 LIVE RCB-W vs DC-W score and updates: RCB begin chase

Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine open the batting for Royal Challengers Bangalore as they chase 224 runs to win this game against Delhi Capitals. Can they make the same impact as Shafali Verma and her opening partner made for DC.

    RCB-W: 21/0 (2.1 Overs)

  • Live Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals: Can RCB Bounce Back?

Delhi Capitals have delivered an incredible batting performance, surpassing the total set by Mumbai Indians in the previous match and now registering a score of 200+ in both games. The inexperienced bowling attack of Royal Challengers Bangalore was exposed by the Capitals' opening batters, Shafali and Lanning. They took on Schutt in the second over and continued to dominate from there, hitting a boundary in every over except the first. The 150+ partnership between Shafali and Lanning set a solid foundation for a big score, which Kapp and Jemimah were able to capitalize on by adding 60 runs in the final 31 balls. The total is immense, and it will be a challenge for RCB to come anywhere close to it.

  • Live Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals: Delhi Look to finish on top

Delhi Capitals are enjoying a fruitful period with a steady stream of boundaries coming at regular intervals. Marizanne Kapp and Jemimah Rodrigues are making good use of every delivery, scoring runs consistently. The last two overs yielded 18 runs, bringing Delhi closer to the 200-run mark.

  • Live Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals: RCB Bounce Back

    Meg Departs

The RCB bowlers and fielders have found some relief, but the harm has already been inflicted, and their focus now is on damage control. Lanning attempted a flick into the leg-side by shuffling down the wicket, but the ball dipped and evaded her bat, hitting the middle and leg-stump. This dismissed the excellent partnership, and Lanning will be disheartened as she was within reach of scoring a century.

    Verma Follows

The second ball of the over and both openers have been dismissed. Could this be the turning point that Royal Challengers Bangalore were hoping for? With two new batters at the crease, it's a good opportunity to apply pressure. Credit goes to Knight for her intelligent bowling - she noticed that Shafali was advancing down the track, so she adjusted her pace and length, causing Shafali to reach for a big shot that resulted in an outside edge. Richa did well to hold onto the catch on the second attempt.

  • Live Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals: Verma Near 100

RCB's bowlers are struggling to contain the Delhi Capitals' openers, who are scoring runs comfortably. Preeti Bose's over went for 10 runs, allowing the Capitals to build towards a big finish.

  • Live Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals: Fifty for Meg

Meg Lanning has reached her fifty as Delhi Capitals maintain their domination over Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Australian captain has hit 10 boundaries in her innings, and the RCB bowlers have been unable to find a way to stop her and her opening partner Shafali Verma.

  • Live Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals: 100 up for Delhi

Shafali Verma scored fifty runs in her maiden WPL game and has been outstanding thus far in this innings. The RCB bowlers are being completely outplayed by the gifted India opener as the opposition now unquestionably appears to be under pressure. For Delhi Capitals, 100 up

  • Live RCB-W vs DC-W: Shafali Verma Hits Fifty

Shafali Verma is in explosive form, hitting Asha Shobhana for a couple of sixes and a four. Meg Lanning, on the other hand, is not far behind in scoring boundaries with ease, putting pressure on RCB to take a wicket. DC's domination continues as 22 runs are added in the over.

  • Live RCB-W vs DC-W

Despite Asha Shobhana's efforts, she was unable to trouble the Delhi Capitals' opener, who are currently scoring runs effortlessly. The conditions seem to be favourable for batting, and the DC openers are capitalizing on this advantage.

  • Live RCB-W vs DC-W: Delhi Capitals Dominating RCB

Preeti Bose was introduced into the attack, but Shafali Verma was already on a roll, hitting a maximum to signal her intentions. Despite getting hit for a big shot, the spinner made a quick recovery and allowed only seven runs to be scored in the over. Royal Challengers Bangalore were still searching for a wicket, but Shafali Verma and Lanning seemed determined to stay in the game.

  • Live RCB-W vs DC-W: Verma, Meg On Top

As Megan Schutt charged towards the pitch, the Aussie pacer faced a barrage of attacks from the DC openers. Shafali Verma struck first with a boundary, followed by a couple from Meg Lanning. Despite Schutt's decent performance, Delhi Capitals had a successful over, racking up 14 runs. The openers were keen on exploiting the powerplay and showed no mercy.

  • Live RCB-W vs DC-W: Key players from both sides

Ellyse Perry | Royal Challengers Bangalore - Wonderful to be here, just the excitement and energy has been brilliant. It's been great to meet everyone and I'm looking forward to this game. That sense of familiarity when you walk into a group is lovely. Meeting all the girls and the domestic talent is great. On a personal note, probably going to learn a lot. If it fits in with our game plan, yes I'll bowl. Takes me back to how amazing the RCB fans are, we've had a lot of cameras at training and a lot of content that goes out but it's great. Hopefully we can play some entertaining cricket for everyone out there.

Shafali Verma | Delhi Capitals - The preparations have been good, we have enjoyed a lot and at the same time we know we have to give our 100% in today's match. We have played with each other, so we know each other's strengths and weaknesses, and will look to exploit it. You've been consistent to get runs, I always want to prove myself. There are plenty of video analyses regarding every player's performance. We will have a look at the pitch and decide on the plans. We've a balanced team and I think our batting is really good.

  • Live RCB-W vs DC-W: Both team captains at the toss

Meg Lanning - The pitch looks good, even the covering of grass and so not unhappy to bat first. We've three quicks and threes spinners, semi-all-rounders in women's cricket at the moment. We've practised well, everyone are in the same boat and we're looking forward to the game.

Smriti Mandhana - We will field first. Fresh wicket, a bit of grass and we've some quality seamers. Four overseas players are Perry, Schutt, Sophie and Heather Knight. This is a great platform, we were waiting for it and this is a chance to showcase our talent. This is big for women's cricket. We've had a quick turnaround, the team is looking in good stead and the management has been amazing as well.

  • Live RCB-W vs DC-W: Pitch Report by Julia Price and Rohan Gavaskar

"It is hot, 33 degrees. Afternoon game and it is the first for both these teams. This is a red soil pitch with plenty of runs in it. Looks nice and flat. The field is really quick and has short boundaries, 57 and 53 meters square. But behind the wicket on one end it is only 46 meters and you want to target that as a batter. There is a slope on the square and you should know the angles of this ground, which is the area where you can get the best runs and exploit that. We are expecting some big runs. I still think there might be something in it for the pacers at the start."

  • Live RCB-W vs DC-W: Toss Report

RCB captain Smriti Mandhana won the toss and opted to field first against Delhi Capitals.

  • Live RCB-W vs DC-W: Top-heavy RCB

  • Live RCB-W vs DC-W: What's on the cards

Meg Lanning was thrilled as she smashed 16 fours and a six on her way to scoring 88 runs in just 45 balls, leading the Australia women's team to the highest score ever recorded at the venue - 209 for 4 against England women in 2018. The batting conditions were ideal for both teams, and they should be pleased with their performances.
