  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Table Toppers - Mumbai Indians

The RCBs have suffered consecutive defeats in an emphatic fashion. In the previous match, they conceded a mammoth total of 223 runs, and today, they failed to defend a target of 155, losing with 34 balls to spare. Their bowling unit is a major concern as they have taken only three wickets in two games, all of which were claimed by spinners. The pacers have been ineffective and unable to maintain any control. Despite appearing strong after the auctions, the team has faltered in just two games. The weak bowling has put immense pressure on their batsmen to score above-par totals, which was evident today when they kept losing wickets in clusters and couldn't build any momentum. The target of 155 was never going to be sufficient against a formidable MI batting line-up, with Hayley Mathews leading the charge with an unbeaten 77, supported by Yastika's 23 and Nat-Sciver's aggressive 55*. Smriti Mandhana, who is also the team's captain, seemed bereft of ideas, and she may need to improve her leadership skills.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: MI on top

Mumbai's batters have once again hit back-to-back boundaries, which have been a common occurrence this evening. The bowler delivered a short ball angling towards the batter, who expertly guided it behind square on the leg side for two consecutive fours. Following that, Hayley Matthews chipped one towards mid-off, adding another four runs to the total.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Hayley Matthews On Fire

Hayley Matthews has been unstoppable since the beginning of the powerplay, maintaining her momentum without any pause. In the ninth over, she hits Renuka Thakur for 11 runs, including a boundary past fine leg and another one over backward point.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: MI 1 Down

The umpire's decision was accurate, as confirmed by Yastika's conversation with Matthews, during which they opted not to challenge the call. Yastika attempted to flick a full, straight delivery but missed, with the ball hitting in line with the stumps and destined to hit the middle. It was wise not to request a review, given the circumstances. Overall, a plumb decision by the umpire.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: RCB Need Quick Wickets

As Renuka bowls her third delivery, Yastika strikes the ball for a four right away, cutting it behind square and avoiding the fielder diving at backward point. The following two balls only result in a single run. Matthews then enters the fray and flicks a ball towards her legside for another four. RCB is currently conceding boundaries and struggling to contain the opposition's scoring.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Steady Start By MI

Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia are at the crease as we return for the chase, with Matthews on strike. Renuka Singh opens the attack with a dot ball, but Matthews edges the second ball for a boundary! Matthews then flicks the next delivery to deep midwicket, allowing her to rotate strike.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Mid-innings

RCB made a decent effort to recover, but their batting performance was marred by a number of easy dismissals. Although they made a strong start, they quickly fell from 39 for 0 to 43 for 4, and then suffered a costly run-out of Ellyse Perry. While the middle and lower-middle order contributed useful runs, the team failed to post a significant total, with the highest score being just 28 by Richa Ghosh. MI showed great skill with the ball and were impressive in the field. Given the pitch conditions, a total of 155 is below par and MI will likely feel confident in their ability to chase it down.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: RCB Back In Game

Shreyanka Patil has a unique grip where she holds the bat up top, which we have seen other batters with less muscle power use as well. However, for this grip to work, timing has to be impeccable, and that has been the case for Shreyanka in this match. Nat Sciver-Brunt bowls a fractionally short delivery, which Shreyanka pulls behind square for a boundary. Later in the over, Megan Schutt bowls a similar delivery, and Shreyanka rolls her wrists to hit another boundary in the same region. On the last ball of the over, Sciver-Brunt delivers a low ball that comes into the right-hander. Shreyanka tries to defend it, but the ball thuds into her backfoot. The on-field umpire deems her lbw, and the DRS confirms the decision. RCB managed to score 14 runs in the over, but unfortunately, they lost another wicket.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: RCB In Deep Trouble

Richa Ghosh's dismissal is a disappointing turn of events for RCB. She had been the one who had settled in and was expected to anchor the innings, but she succumbed to the temptation of playing a big shot and got caught at deep mid-wicket. RCB seems to be losing their wickets carelessly, without showing any regard for the situation of the game. The bowler tossed the ball up nicely, and Richa went low to play a slog-sweep, but failed to get on top of the bounce. As a result, she ended up hitting a big top-edge that was comfortably caught by Sciver at deep mid-wicket.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: RCB 6 Down

Kanika's innings comes to a premature end due to an unnecessary shot. RCB will surely be disappointed with this dismissal, especially with so many overs still left to play. The bowler delivered a slower cutter, and Kanika attempted to play an ambitious swipe across the line. However, she closed the face of her bat too early, resulting in a leading edge that flew towards the off-side. Yastika called for the catch, ran towards short third and took it comfortably. Once again, RCB loses a wicket against the run of play.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: RCB Back On Track

Jintimani Kalita is introduced into the bowling attack and opts to bowl from around the wicket. She bowls wide of the off-stump to Kanika Ahuja, enticing the left-handed batswoman to play an expansive drive or slash. Kalita varies her pace, mixing in some slower deliveries and cross-seam deliveries. Ahuja manages to get a slight inside edge on one delivery and guides it down to the third man boundary, opening the face of her bat at the last moment. She ends the over with a well-executed pull shot over mid-wicket, resulting in a boundary. This takes RCB's score to 100 runs.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: All eyes on Richa Ghosh

Issy Wong is brought back into the attack after being targeted by Mandhana in her previous over, which resulted in three boundaries. As she starts her second over, Wong begins with three consecutive dot balls. However, Ghosh uses her wrist well and guides the ball towards the short fine leg boundary.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Unlucky RCB

The run-out of Perry is the worst possible outcome for RCB. Although the pair had managed to survive a couple of close calls, luck was not on their side the third time. As Perry attempted to cut a fast arm-ball to backward point, Sciver-Brunt made a diving effort to parry the ball towards short third. Perry attempted to take a single, but Richa signaled her back. However, Humaira had already retrieved the ball and threw it directly at the stumps, catching Perry well short of the crease.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: 2 in 2

    Big Blow For RCB

RCB finds themselves in a precarious situation, having squandered a promising start in just six balls, plummeting from 39/0 to 43/3. Mumbai and Harman are thrilled with the success of their strategy, as Smriti Mandhana is once again dismissed by the off-spinner. Mandhana attempts to shimmy down the track and execute an inside-out shot, but Matthews cleverly deceives her with a slower delivery that spins away. The result is a sliced shot towards backward point, which is easily caught by Wong for a straightforward dismissal.

    RCB 4 down

Matthews is looking to complete his hat-trick as RCB finds themselves in complete disarray after Knight's golden duck. The ball is tossed up with a hint of turn, Knight attempts to defend with a forward prod, but the ball beats the inside edge and brushes the front pad before deflecting onto the off-stump.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: MI Bounce Back

With a second wicket in the over, Ishaque is visibly energized and carrying on with the impressive form she displayed in the previous match. She delivers a flighted ball that drifts in, causing Kasat to move forward and attempt a drive. However, the ball ends up sneaking under her bat and crashing into the base of the stumps, resulting in a self-yorking dismissal.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Divine Departs

In the end, it was Ishaque who emerged victorious from the cat-and-mouse game that had been going on between her and Devine since the previous over. With a triumphant cry of "come on," Ishaque celebrated her hard-fought win as Devine walked away from the pitch in front of her.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Saika Ishaque on attack

Saika Ishaque, who claimed four wickets on the first night, now enters the attack. The southpaw offers Sophie Devine a touch of extra width on the initial delivery. Devine swings her bat fiercely and manages to nick it, causing the ball to run behind the third man for a boundary. In an entertaining twist, Ishaque interrupts her run-up twice to observe Devine's movements, adding some excitement to the over. Devine responds with a smile, and the umpire joins in for a lighthearted conversation, making the moment all the more enjoyable.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Positive Start by RCB

In a swift motion, Smriti Mandhana charges down the track and unleashes a powerful punch through the covers, earning a well-deserved boundary. Sophie Devine follows suit, extending her arms and delivering a formidable slog sweep over deep mid-wicket, registering the first six of the match. The crowd erupts in excitement as the two players showcase their remarkable skills and prowess on the field.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Both Team Captains At The Toss

Harmanpreet Kaur: Smriti is little luckier than me (with the toss). We wanted to bowl first and we got that. We have the confidence in our bowling unit and that's why we wanted to bowl today. We are going with the same XI.

Smriti Mandhana: We would like to bat first. It is looks like a good wicket to bat on and chasing builds pressure. We had a chat in the meeting that thinking about totals would not help, we have to play to our strengths and we will get the big total. One of the top four batters has to bat deep and if we can do that then we will post good totals. One change for us.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Weather Report

The MI-W vs RCB-W match is scheduled to begin at 7.30 pm IST at the Brabourne Stadium. In the match played on Sunday, Delhi Capitals posted 223 runs while batting first against RCB, which Bangalore failed to chase down. This venue has hosted 11 T20I matches in the past, with six matches won by the team chasing and five by the team batting first. The average first innings score at this ground is around 165-170. IPL 2022 matches were played at this venue last year. The temperature during the evening will be around 28 degrees, and the conditions will be hot and humid, with humidity close to 50 percent. RCB conceded 223 runs after winning the toss and opting to bowl first on Sunday. Captains who win the toss should not hesitate to bat first on a placid and flat batting track.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Player to watch - Bowling

Issy Wong: The Brabourne Stadium pitch seems to be favouring the pacers, and Mumbai Indians' Issy Wong is one to keep an eye on. In the previous game, she took a wicket and gave away only seven runs in three overs, demonstrating excellent control and skill. Wong's form and accuracy make her a dangerous bowler, and she could be a crucial factor in Mumbai's performance against RCB-W.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Player to watch - Batting

Hayley Matthews: The talented all-rounder from the Caribbean showcased her power-hitting skills in the WPL opener against Gujarat Giants, scoring 47 runs off just 31 balls with four massive sixes. She gave Mumbai Indians a blazing start and will be a key player to watch out for in the upcoming match against RCB-W.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Pitch Report

The pitch at the Brabourne Stadium has been excellent for batting in the ongoing WPL. In the first match on Sunday, a total of 386 runs were scored in just 40 overs, indicating the high-scoring nature of the pitch. The surface is likely to be similar on Monday, allowing batters to play their strokes with ease. Therefore, winning the toss and opting to bat first would be the ideal decision, as the pitch may slow down slightly towards the end of the match.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Change in playing XI for RCB?

RCB-W may make some changes in their team selection, including bringing in Dane van Niekerk for Sophie Devine. The South African player is a good addition to the team, and RCB may try her out against the Mumbai Indians. Additionally, RCB could bring in young Indian pacer Komal Zanzad in place of someone like Preeti Bose, who was largely ineffective in the previous game.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: RCB look to bounce back

On Monday, RCB-W captain Smriti Mandhana anticipates a much-improved bowling performance against the Mumbai Indians. In their previous game, Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma thoroughly dominated RCB, and their bowlers had no response. Of the seven bowlers utilized, five conceded over 9 runs per over, with Megan Schutt (11.2), Heather Knight (13.3), and Sophie Devine (20) all being hit hard by the Delhi duo. RCB-W must correct their mistakes and deliver a more robust bowling performance against MI-W's potent batting lineup.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: All eyes on Saika Ishaque

In their last match, Mumbai displayed exceptional bowling prowess. Issy Wong and Nat Sciver-Brunt were outstanding, but the real revelation was Saika Ishaque. On her debut, the Indian left-arm spinner exhibited tremendous skill and control, claiming four wickets against a competent Gujarat unit. Harmanpreet Kaur will heavily rely on Ishaque's abilities, and she expects the team's bowlers to maintain the same level of accuracy and discipline against RCB. In addition, MI can count on Pooja Vastrakar and Amelia Kerr, both of whom are known for their bowling skills.

  • LIVE Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: MI on Top

In their last match, Mumbai Indians Women demonstrated their explosive batting and bowling abilities, while Royal Challengers Bangalore Women conceded too many runs. In particular, Hayley Matthews, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Amelia Kerr's performances wreaked havoc against the Giants. As they face RCB-W, MI-W will aim to maintain their strategy and focus on their strengths. With a complete and healthy team, they have the potential to become a dominant force in the WPL, especially with their elite batting lineup.
