New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a car in Delhi's Moti Bagh area on Thursday night.
The incident happened when the girl was returning to Noida from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
The 20-year-old from Noida had come to Delhi looking for a job.
Reports say that the girl was given a lift by the car's driver, who offered to drop her at her Noida residence.
Notably, the car in which the shameful incident took place had a Home Ministry Parking sticker placed on it.
However, the police said that he is not a government employee.
Four years back, on December 16, 2012, six people had gang-raped a 23-year-old physiotherapy intern in a moving bus and beat her and her male friend. After violently raping and attacking her, they threw the girl outside the vehicle, along with her male friend. The girl succumbed to her injuries in a Singapore hospital on December 29, 2012. The incident had led to large scale protests across the country, forcing the government of the day to make strict and punitive laws related to harassment of women.
