IFFK to pay homage to Mani Kaul, Elizabeth Taylor
The homage section of the 16th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) is going to be a gracious tribute to some renowned film personalities whose absence had caused a huge void in world cinema.

Thiruvananthapuram: The homage section of the 16th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) is going to be a gracious tribute to some renowned film personalities whose absence had caused a huge void in world cinema.
Seven films have been selected for the section including four of Raoul Ruiz (1941-2011) and one each of Mani Kaul (1944-2011), Tareque Masud (1956-2011) and Elizabeth Taylor (1932-2011).
Chilean film-maker Raoul Ruiz had rebelled against the conventions of movie-making in an extensive, varied, intricate collection of experiments, curiosities and innovation the film lovers around the world.
Experimental Indian director Mani Kaul`s `Uski Roti` will also be a part of the section.
The film `Runway` by Bangladeshi director Tareque Masud, who had won several international awards including the FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) prize at the 2002 Cannes Festival, will be screened in the section.
`Who is afraid of Virginia Wolf`, the film having Elizabeth Taylor in the main role and directed by Mike Nicholas, will also be a part of the section.
