I am ready to experiment: Krutika Desai Khan

Krutika Desai Khan, who has gone bald for her role in ‘Uttaran’, says she has no qualms in experimenting with her looks on the small screen.

Mumbai: Television actress Krutika Desai Khan, who has gone bald for her role in ‘Uttaran’, says she has no qualms in experimenting with her looks on the small screen.
"Since the last few years when I have moved on to character roles, it doesn`t matter (how I look). I am ready to experiment, go fat, go bald ... anything," Krutika, who will play the role of Ekadish, Akash a.k.a. Vishnu`s mother, in the show, told reporters.
The actress is excited about it. "I didn`t think I was the first one to go bald on TV. I was excited because it was a different look but when someone told me it is being done for the first time, I was like, `that makes it even more exciting`," she said. The actress has been part of the television industry for over two decades and has done shows like ‘Buniyaad’, ‘Chandrakanta’, ‘Ye Meri Life Hai’, ‘Annu Ki Ho Gayee Waah Bhai Waah’ and ‘Ram Milaayi Jodi’. The actress feels television has advanced to a great deal over the years and is turning more realistic. "TV is slowly moving towards more real looks than being decked up all the time. There was a time when it was all about being decked up with wigs and heavy jewellery and all that," she said. Krutika is content with her journey so far. "I think the journey has been eventful. An actor is always dissatisfied and when I feel like this, I look back at my work and feel that I have done different kind of roles. Then at that time I feel a little satisfied," she said. "People do think of me as a versatile actress. I feel I haven`t created a niche. If you want a satisfying journey then you don`t want a niche, as you can keep on exploring different genres. "If you see my career graph, I have stopped working for years in between. I feel that I reach a saturation point and so do my audience. So then I take a break and then come back. Now also, I was feeling the same thing, but then this (the show) came along. I am excited all over again," she added. The actress`s plate is full at the moment. "I am doing a show `Phir Subah Hogi` and then `Uttaran`. So my plate is overflowing right now," she said. IANS
