New Delhi: Maharashtra in the last 24 hours reported 28,699 new coronavirus cases, according to the state's official data released on Tuesday (March 23, 2021) evening. The state's total tally has now climbed to 25.33 lakh. Maharashtra also recorded 132 COVID-19 related fatalities that took the death toll to 53,589.
In other news, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Tuesday extended the ban on international passenger flights till April 30. The order has come amid the COVID-19 surge across India.
Earlier in the day, the BJP Chief JP Nadda released the party's manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections in Assam. Apart from unveiling the party's manifesto in Guwahati, he also held a roadshow in West Bengal.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also addressed a public meeting in Gosaba, West Bengal.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee also addressed three rallies in the poll-bound state.
