Raipur: Tension prevailed in Dhamtari city in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday after a clash broke out between two communities in which a senior police officer was injured.
Following the conflict, police invoked section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in the city in Dhamtari district, banning unlawful assembly of people.
"A clash broke out between people of two communities this evening over the issue of a girl of one community marrying a boy belonging to another community. To control the situation, section 144 has been imposed in the city," Dhamtari Collector Bhim Singh told PTI.
