New Delhi: Not having any portfolio, including "wet" ones, has helped me and I remain a political shield for my ministerial colleagues, says Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Talking to senior editors here, he said philosophically he believed that a chief minister should be there to supervise the work of other ministers and not to get into nitty gritty of their departments.
Tongue in cheek, he said unlike some chief ministers who keep "wet" portfolios with themselves, he would not like to keep any for himself.
This, the chief minister said, has left him free to review the working of departments on each day of the week.
"I review the work of all departments every day. I am not handling these portfolios. I take care of politics. I am like a shield for them (ministers) when there is political criticism," he said.
