16-year-old girl raped in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man when she had gone to collect grass from nearby field in Budhana area here, police said on Wednesday.

According to the complaint filed by the victim's family, Ranu Singh abducted the girl from the field and raped her in a nearby house yesterday.

"The victim has been sent for a medical examination and a complaint has been lodged against the accused who is absconding," SHO DK Tyagi said.

In another incident, a man sustained severe injuries after he opposed alleged eveteasing of his daughter at New Mandi area here on Tuesday.

A complaint has been registered against the accused, Shivam, police said.
