Kashmir incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits: Ghulam Ahmed Mir

The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president Ghulam Ahmed Mir today said that the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants with dignity, was an unfinished task as Kashmir remained incomplete without Kashmiri Pandit community.

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president Ghulam Ahmed Mir today said that the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants with dignity, was an unfinished task as Kashmir remained incomplete without Kashmiri Pandit community.

"Kashmir and Kashmiriyat is incomplete without the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants especially the minority community as the age old secular credentials of Kashmir are under question without the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits to their native land, with dignity in an atmosphere, where they feel adequate sense of safety and security to their lives and property as well their religious rights", Mir said at a party function here.

He said the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley was a "blot" on the secular tradition and religious brotherhood, for which Kashmir and Kashmiriyat is known and their return is unfinished agenda and challenge to all political dispensations in the country and state.

Mir said the Congress did its best to look after the interests of the Kashmiri migrants and made efforts aimed at their welfare, return and rehabilitation although nothing can compensate their agony, suffering and pain, of being away from their native places.
