Chandigarh: Fifteen-year-old girl from Ludhiana, Jhanvi Behal, who took social media by storm in March this year after she challenged Jawaharlal Nehru University student union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar for an open debate on freedom of expression, has now announced that she will be hoisting Indian tricolour at Lal Chowk in Srinagar, come this August 15.
"Main 15 august ko Lal chowk (Srinagar) pe tiranga phairaongi, kisi mein himmat hai to rok ke dikhaye (I will hoist Indian tricolour at Srinagar's Lal Chowk on August 15. Stop if you can)," Jhanvi said.
Behal says that her decision to hoist the Indian flag at Srinagar's famous Lal Chowk came after few separatist leaders and students recently insulted the national flag of India by hoisting Pakistan’s flag there.
