New Delhi, Nov 27: The CBI today raided several
places in the national capital, Uttar Pradesh, Uttranchal and
Madhya Pradesh in a bid to nab Madhumani Tripathi, wife of
jailed former BSP minister Amarmani, in connection with the
murder of poetess Madhumita Shukla, but she remained elusive.

CBI sleuths swooped down on various places belonging to
the friends and relatives of Madhumina in the national capital
but she continued to remain elusive, agency sources said here.

The raids followed the issuance of non-bailable warrant
by a designated court in Lucknow against Madhumani for
allegedly not co-operating with the CBI in its investigations.

She went missing immediately after the CBI arrested the
alleged killer of Madhumita, Prakash Chander Pandey, on
November 10.

Several places in UP and Uttaranchal were raided today
for the second consecutive day to trace her, the sources said.

Madhumani, in the meantime, has moved the designated
court for recalling of the NBW against her on the plea that it
was issued without giving her an opportunity to be heard. The
case will come up for hearing tomorrow.

The noose around Madhumani tightened after Amarmani's
cousin Rohit Chaturvedi reportedly "revealed" that she wanted
the child of Madhumita to be aborted in any condition.

Chaturvedi, who is presently in judicial custody in Uttar
Pradesh jail, told the agency sleuths during his interrogation
that Madhumani never wanted the child to see the light of the
day and had asked him to "ensure that."
