Landslide in Tawang area of Arunachal Pradesh: Watch video

Itangar: Continuous rain in the last couple of days led to a landslide at Famla village in Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang district early Friday, killing 17 people.

More rain-triggered landslides are also being reported from different parts of Tawang, damaging electric poles and disrupting power supply.

Chief Minister Kalikho Pul has asked Tawang Deputy Commissioner for a detailed report on the landslides.

According to an official report from Namsai, incessant downpour yesterday deteriorated the flood scenario in the district with both Noa Dehing and Jengthu rivers flowing above the danger mark. The flood water of the rivers had inundated human habitation and agricultural fields besides damaging many embankments.
