New Delhi: Veteran actor Jeetendra has been booked by the Shimla police reportedly days after his cousin alleged that he sexually assaulted her years back when she was all of 18.
According to Indianexpress.com, the actor's cousin had filed a complaint against him in Shimla accusing the superstar of sexually assaulting her 47 years ago. In her complaint, the woman had alleged that on the night they reached Shimla, Jeetendra returned to the room in an inebriated state, joined the two separate beds and sexually assaulted her.

The star reportedly 'arranged' for the victim to join him from New Delhi to Shimla on the set of his movie without the complainant's 'awareness'. The incident took place in January 1971, when the victim was 18 and Jeetendra was 28.
Indianexpress.com, quoted the Superintendent of Police Umapati Jamwal as saying, “an FIR under section 354 IPC has been registered at Chotta Shimla police station. After her email, we got in touch with the complainant, who later had also sent us a written complaint to support her version”.
Now, the woman who has accused the actor of sexual assault will record her statement before a magistrate.
Earlier, Jeetendra's lawyer had outrightly rubbished the allegations and issued a statement denying any such incident.
