ICC World Twenty20: Suranga Lakmal, Lahiru Thirmanna return to Sri Lanka squad

New Delhi: Sri Lanka Cricket has taken some bold steps in order to give their team the best chance to win the ICC World Twenty20 in India.
After a disappointing outing in the Asia Cup, Lasith Malinga stepped down as the skipper of the team.
A day later, the SLC put a new selection committee, headed by the former skipper Aravinda de Silva, in place.
The team for the WT20 was picked by the new selection committee which also includes Kumar Sangakkara.
Malinga was replaced by Angelo Mathews as captain, while fast bowler Suranga Lakmal returned to the side along with the left-handed batsman, Lahiru Thirmanna.
Both were not part of the recent Asia Cup when Sri Lanka were beaten by India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Their only win coming against associate team the UAE.

Angelo Mathews (Captain), Dinesh Chandimal (Vice Captain), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Lahiru Thirimanna, Shehan Jayasuriya, Milinda Siriwardena, Chamara Kapugedara, Dasun Shanaka, Thisara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekera, Dushmantha Chameera, Rangana Herath, Suranga Lakmal, Sachithra Senanayake and Lasith Malinga.
