New Delhi: India's limited-overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has played some of the most breathtaking knocks in limited-overs cricket.

While he earned the reputation of being one of the best finishers in limited-overs cricket in the latter part of his career, he set international cricket on fire with some blitzkrieg knocks in ODIs.

The Ranchi-born cricketer scored 183 vs Sri Lanka and 148 vs Pakistan in ODIs, but many believe his 91* against Sri Lanka in ICC 2011 World Cup final is his greatest ODI knock till date.

After a poor tournament with the bat, Dhoni promoted himself in the batting order ahead of Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina in the final.

Chasing a decent total of 274 runs, Men in Blue got off to a bad start after losing the wickets of Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar with just 31 runs on board. Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli then resurrected the innings with a brilliant 83-run stand for the third wicket.

Dilshan gave the Lankans another massive breakthrough when he dismissed Kohli in the 22nd over of the innings. India still needed 161 runs to win with seven wickets in hand.

In walked Dhoni and here is what he did to the Lankan bowlers. Relive the highlights of the World Cup final match:
