Cape Town: Spain midfielder Xavi has declared that their World Cup semi-final opponents Germany are a talented side and noted that the absence of Thomas Muller is an advantage for his team.
The Barcelona playmaker also stated that the past achievements of the team count for nothing and they must make the most of a `fantastic generation` by going all the way to glory in South Africa.
"Germany is refreshed, more talented, especially in the midfield. They are less physical and more talented. Muller does not play and that`s good because he is in excellent form. [Sami] Khedira, [Bastian] Schwensteiger are doing an outstanding job, as are [Mesut] Ozil, [Lukas] Podolski, and [Miroslav] Klose.... they have goals in them," he is quoted as saying by AS.
"They`re a team that we can come good against because they like having the ball and will leave more space than Paraguay. They do well on the counterattack and get plenty of cover from the wings.”
"We have already made history, but we are not settling for that, we need to reach the finals and win. We have a fantastic generation to achieve this and we will play to our strengths and give everything. The important thing is to score and we should take advantage of [David] Villa`s form."
