How is the country's largest detention centre?
The Golpara Detection Centre is located in Matia, Golpara District, Assam. It is India's first (and largest) detention centre for illegal migrants. The Detention Centre is spread over an area of approximately 2,88,000 square feet (equivalent to the size of seven football fields).
