New Delhi: One of the hottest on-screen pairs of Bollywood and the secret love birds of B-town Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are all set to team up for yet another venture.

Deepika and Ranveer have mesmerised the audience with their performance in films like 'Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela', 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Padmaavat'. It would not be wrong to say that they are one of the most favourite jodis on the silver screen at present.

As per a report, Deepika's 'Chennai Express' director Rohit Shetty had considered her for his next film, titled 'Simmba'. The film stars Ranveer Singh in the role of a cop. However, by then, Deepika had already allotted her dates to Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Rani' opposite Irrfan Khan.

However, the film has been postponed for now as lead actor Irrfan has been diagnosed with 'a rare disease' and has flown to the US for treatment.

With Vishal Bhardwaj's Sapna Didi biopic getting postponed due to Irrfan's ill health, it is being speculated that Deepika might take up Rohit Shetty's 'Simmba' project opposite beau Ranveer.

It is to be noted that initially, names like Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor were doing rounds to star opposite Ranveer in the action flick. The film is being co-produced by Karan Johar and will hit screens on December 28.

Besides, 'Simmba' may face a Box Office battle with Shah Rukh Khan's 'Zero' and Salman Khan's 'Dabangg 3' and these films will also be released at the same time.
