Kolkata: Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee, who plays the role of a teacher in the upcoming film ‘Hanuman.Com’, says he is thrilled over his character Anjaniputra Sen Sharma.
The film, which is shot mostly in the icy meadows of Iceland, is the first Indian film to be shot in that part of the world.
"From the intriguing name of Anjaniputra (Hanuman) which has a mythological reference, to the way he lands up in an alien country and is back to his roots, the character is not typical," he told PTI.
The 50-year-old actor said to get even with the character he had to undergo a personality makeover in terms of look and delivery of lines.
"I realised I had really merged with the character when someone pointed out at the Reykjav?k airport that I had forgotten to button my shirt," Prosenjit said.
Prosenjit, who was acclaimed for his role in National Award winner ‘Moner Manush’, spoke highly of the film`s director Gourav Pandey, saying he has a very refreshing approach to the medium.
Pandey`s first film ‘Sukno Lanka’ starring Mithun Chakraborty, he said had floored him by its unique narrative style and treatment.
He pointed out that movie made by Cinenine Production, touched on different aspects of modern technology and what consequences it could bring onto contemporary life but in a very commonplace, simple way.
"It is a commonplace tale; a journey from our home to the end of the world linked by net," he said.
Director Gourav Pandey said that he had conceived the story three years back, but started penning the script only a few months back after getting nod from Prosenjit.
