Los Angeles: `An Affair to Remember`, the 1957 classic, starring Hollywood legend Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr, is all set to get a Japanese makeover.Fox International Productions is developing a Japanese-language version of the movie. The script is being written by Hiroshi Saito, who has penned some of the most successful Japanese films of recent years, including `April Bride` and `252: Signal of Life`.
The film will be produced by Yukie Kito of `Tokyo Sonata` fame, the Variety reported.
The 1957 film, one of the greatest romantic movies of all time, is about a couple who fall in love and agree to meet six months later at the Empire State Building.
It has inspired many stories including Tom Hanks starrer `Sleepless in Seatle` and Bollywood movie `Mann` starring Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala.
Asian movie industry is featuring prominently in the Fox lineup. In January, the studio boarded Korean helmer Na Hong-jin`s new feature `The Murderer` along with Korean mini-major Showbox, a first for the Fox.
The studio also bought the marketing and distribution rights to Shah Rukh Khan starrer `My Name Is Khan` for a record amount.
The film, which was premiered in Berlin film festival, was released on February 12.
